Annual flowers There isn't a better way to create an eye catching flower display than with annual flowers. Annuals explode in a riot of colours throughout the growing season. You have an unlimited range of colours, shapes and sizes from which to choose. The best performance from your annual flowers is achieved by preparing the planting soil and fertilizing properly all season long. Build-up your annual flower beds with liberal amounts of composted manure and peat moss, raising the flower bed slightly above the surrounding grade. This will assist drainage. The best visual impact is created by planting flowers of the same variety together in groups of a dozen or more. Distribute 1.5 kg per 10m2 (about 3 lbs per 1000 sq ft) of NUTRITE'S ANNUAL FLOWER FOOD 6-7-11 over the entire flower bed before setting out your annuals. Then use a rake to incorporate the fertilizer into the soil. Transplant your annual flowers and water well. Repeat the 6-7-11 fertilizer application every four weeks until the killing frosts. Frequent fertilization will produce a display of annual flower colours that will be the envy of your neighbourhood.
